It is with great pride that we announce that the CD Missa Sancti Georgii, performed by Cappella Amsterdam and Holland Baroque, has won the Edison Klassiek Publieksprijs 2024!
This special mass, composed by Herman Finkers on the occasion of his wedding dedication in 1990, has undergone several transformations over the years. In its most recent version, performed by an ensemble consisting of string quintet, oboe, harp, harpsichord and choir, the work has touched the hearts of many listeners. In addition to the Missa Sancti Georgii, the CD also includes a beautiful performance of a Gregorian Marian Vespers, sung by Wishful Singing.
The award ceremony is a wonderful recognition of the hard work and dedication of all involved. Thanks to all the votes, Herman Finkers received this award. We want to thank you tremendously for your support and appreciation!
