background
In Polderklanken, four key composers from the Dutch musical landscape take centre stage: Rudolf Escher, Robert Heppener, Elmer Schönberger, and Mathilde Wantenaar. Their music reveals the many ways in which the modern and contemporary musical idiom in the Netherlands has evolved, from the twentieth into the twenty-first century, each voice marked by a distinctly personal signature. Performed under the direction of chief conductor Daniel Reuss, Polderklanken offers a compelling portrait of the richness and versatility of Dutch choral expression across time.
