St. Matthew Passion – Theological Perspective

What is the podcast about?

What happens to us the moment we listen to the Mätthaus-Passion? How can Bach’s passion hold up a mirror to its listeners? How can work take us by the hand on our life’s journey?

That you can be spiritual with both feet on the ground shows theologian Ad de Keyzer. In a conversation between him, chief conductor Daniel Reuss and musicologist Maartje Stokkers, he explains how the age-old spiritual reading practice “lectio divina” works and how through it one can understand the St. Matthew Passion.

Listen in to these two podcast episodes with Ad de Keyzer and enrich your experience of the St. Matthew Passion.
