It’s time for the annual collaboration between the Residentie Orchestra and Cappella Amsterdam. The programme includes Mozart’s world-famous Requiem, featuring a lineup of excellent soloists: soprano Ana Maria Labin, mezzo-soprano Barbara Kozelj, tenor Fabio Trümpy, and bass José Coca Loza.
The concert begins with Arvo Pärt’s meditative work Fratres, one of the most beautiful openings in classical music, where the score slowly unfolds from nothing. This is followed by two excerpts from Bach’s cantata Ich habe genug, a work that poignantly addresses the theme of saying goodbye, as only Bach can evoke. Followed by a One Minute Symphony to guide the listener toward Mozart’s iconic Requiem.
