In La femme lumineuse, the works of contemporary female composers shine. Under the direction of the talented conductor Heide Müller, the program brings modern masterpieces, known as the “new classics”, to Dutch stages. These musical gems, not yet widespread in the Netherlands, offer a fresh and contemporary approach to music, with light as the central theme.
Experienced lighting designer Floriaan Ganzevoort adds a visual dimension, creating an enchanting ambiance. The selection of pieces was carefully curated by Krista Audere, who not only reflects her own artistic development, but also has a mission to highlight the accessibility of the works of contemporary women composers.
