As of July 1, 2025, Cappella Amsterdam will bid farewell to its business leader Mark Walraven. After an intensive and inspiring period, Walraven has decided to step down from his position.
“After an extraordinary and meaningful time, this feels like the right moment for me to pass the baton,” Walraven said. “Cappella Amsterdam is facing new challenges and I believe the organization will benefit from a fresh eyes and renewed energy.”
Mark Walraven joined during a turbulent time and dedicated himself wholeheartedly to the choir. Under his leadership, the organization successfully cultivated a safe and close-knit working culture, sharpened its brand identity, and he was closely involved in the renewal of the website and the realization of numerous productions.
“Mark has worked with heart and soul over the past years to further develop Cappella Amsterdam,” says artistic director Daniel Reuss. “We are deeply grateful for his commitment, clear vision, and tireless efforts, and we wish him all the best for the future.”
The board of Cappella Amsterdam also expresses its appreciation: “Mark has brought calm and direction within the organization. With his strategic insight and human approach, he has laid an important foundation for the future. We wish him every success in his further career.”
The board will soon begin the search for a new business director.
Cappella Amsterdam remains committed in the coming period to artistic excellence, connection, and innovation in choral music.
